Born into a creative family in Winnipeg, Manitoba, my interests in design/making first began with my elementary school peers and packages of popsicle sticks.
After high school, I received my red-seal construction electrician diploma in college and spent eight years in the trades, developing a certain 'common sense' about how things fit together and work in relation to one another. These years helped shape the practical knowledge I bring to my design work.
Looking to pursue a more creatively fulfilling career, I made the decision to return to university and obtain my Bachelor of Design at Emily Carr University of Art & Design, where I am focusing on smaller scale, accessory-type product design.
My work is primarily based on Bauhaus foundations and sculptural influences that emphasize base geometric shapes, limited colour palettes, complementing materials, and general principles of minimalism.
